Rolwalling Trek with Tsorolpa lake - 20 days

The Rolwaling trek is one of the sound and wilderness  trek of Nepal. This  trek starts from Dolakha,  About eight-hour drive from Kathmandu. And it provides an experience the remoteness of this region, beautiful mountain views, diverse flora and fauna and rich local cultures.This trek requires a goodwalking experience and a good physical form. There is technical route in Tashi Lepcha Pass. One should have a peaks climbing permit for this trek. The Sherpas named this  valley ‘Rolwaling’ which means “The Grave” due to its location deep down between the steep ice-giants of the Khumbu region. We have wonderful views of Rolwaling Hima, Mt.Gaurishanker, Rolwaling Himal, Chobabhamre, Dorje Lakpa, Yalung Ri and Pachharmo peak.  There is a Great nunnery Gompa called Bigu Gompa. There are more than 300 nuns. Two festivals are cele - brated in a year in this place like manirimdu in Tengboche Gompa in Kumbu region. In Sherpa Language Biku means "Seed". There is Sherpa village. View of Gaurishankar (7,145m), Melungtse (7,181m) and other mountains, a good landscapes, the village of Beding (3,690m) and monastery, the village of Na (4,183m), Tso Rolpa lake are the main attractions of this trek.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kathamndu
Arrive in Kathmandu airport transfer to Hotel Trek briefing, free
afternoon/Evening. Check in hotel.

Day 2: Buddanath Pashupatinath
After break fast, Guided tour to Bouddhanath- the world’s largest Buddhist stupa, Pashupatinath- world’s biggest Hindu Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square -world heritage sites, free.

Day 3: Sigatte 1020 Mt.
7 hrs Jeep drive from Kathmandu through the scenic high green hills, White Mountain  views to the north. One the way visit of Dolakha Bhimeswor Temple in Dolakha. The last hr dusty drive down to your camp in Tama Koshi river Bank.

Day 4: Jagat 1250 Mt.
We carry on along the Bhote Kosi river along the bottom of its deep valley which gradually becomes more gorge-like. We crisscross the hectic river on picturesque suspension bridges and pass a few hamlets and villages. The forest sometimes will give way to nice views of the Gaurishankar (7145m). This area is still Hindu although signs of Buddhism, with prayer flags and Chortens.

Day 5: Simigaon 2025 Mt.
Short stage. After a 2.5 hrs walk, we leave the valley to continue east. The path slowly gains altitude on an impressive slope, and later crosses terraces. Simigaon is a Sherpa & Tamang village, marked by its Tibetan monastery, perched above the houses on top of the hill infront of the Mt. Gauri Sankar.

Day 6: Donga 2800 Mt.
We now enter the Rollwalling valley. Through a gorgeous rhododendron forest & bamboo forest. The path steadily climbs towards Gyalche. Eventually, we descend back down to the river and establish the campsite on the Rollwalling Khola bank. Narrow but complete green scenery bellow Mt. Gauri Shankar.

Day 7: Beding 3690 Mt.
We gradually climb the forested valley of tropical alpine vegetation, with excellent mountain scenery surrounding us. Arriving at Beding, we can glance at the Melungtse (7181m), Rollwalling’s highest summit. It is a lonely small village of well know Everest summiteers Sherpa village may offer you the Chhang (Barley beer)  & Yak butter salt tea. An old but historical Buddhist Monastery is located in the center of the village. Our Camp will be just on the Rollwalling river Bank.

Day 8 Bedding.  Malung Kharka Bedding.
Day hike to the Malung la pass 5616 Mt. as high as you can above Beding for your acclimatization and great nature view of more than 15 snowy peaks, glaciers and natural forest valley of Beding.

Day 9 Na: 4185 Mt.
A short walk will take us to Na. A tiny alpine hamlet only inhabited during summer months. Na is situated just below Tsorolpa Glacier lake in a beautiful valley overlooked by some very impressive peaks with Chobutse (6685m), Chugimago (6259m). Yalung Ri 5630 Mt.

Day 10 Na-Excursion -Na
We can either take a rest or organize an excursion towards the Yalung La pass. We climb steadily, the path taking us to a vast amphitheatre at 4900m, situated just below the pass, & Ramdun peak ice fall and furrowed with streams & view of the glacier lake Tsso-Rolpa. . In each direction we get a stunning view: eastwards the Yalung Glacier, south the Ramdung Peak (5930m), westwards the Yalung Ri (5630m) and to the north the summits of the Tibetan boarder.

Day 11
Excursion of the Tsorolpa lake and back to your camo.

Day 12:
Trek back to Beding. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 13
Trek back to Gyalche. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 14
Trek to Simigaoun. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 15
Trek to Jagat. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 16
Trek bac to Shingati. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 17
Trek back to Ratomate. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 18
Trek back to Dolakha. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 19
Drive back to Kathmandu. Fare well dinner with cultural dances.

Day 20
Transfer to Airport for your onward Journey or, home departure. Program end.

Tsum means Separated and hidden. Actually this newly opened area for the foreign visitors and in fact it is as separated valley in between Tibetan Plateau and Trans Himalaya. This valley is located north of Mt. Ganesh Himal. It's main fact is non violent and very deep in Buddhist religion, countless Stupas and Mani walls along and through the valley. All people are Buddhist with Tibetan customs & Language.Even though it is newly opened for Tourist this Himalayan Ecological Trekking (P.) Ltd is already launched this area as home stay tours in this valley. 2-3 weeks duration is recommendable  to complete this un-touched nature.
