Barun Valley Makalu Trek is located in the eastern part of Nepal offering impressing naturalal beauty. The main focal point of this trek is Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area, which lies in the Solukhumbhu and Sankhuwasabha district. Established in 1992 and formally inaugurated in 1992. Mount Makalu (8463m), the world's fifth highest peak, Chamlang Himal and Barun Valley are the major attraction of this area. line Having a wide range of altitudinal and climatic variations, the Makalu Barun area offers a remarkable and diverse habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna. Plants of all major ecological zones: tropical, sub-tropical, temperate, alpine and sub-alpine are found here. The park is the home to a rich variety of wildlife also.

 

Itinerary

Day 01
Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 02
Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 03
1 hr flight Kathmandu to Tumlingtar, then 3 hrs trek through wide cultivated land and local villagesto Khandbari. O/N at tented camp.

Day 04 Trek to Chichila.
3 hrs Slow accent up through farming land and beautiful local villages. Last hr walking through bushy forest viewing Mt. Makalau 8461 m. O/N at tented camp.

Day 05
4 hrs trek along the green hill range cross many part of the Cardamom farming and dense forest. The last hr decent to Num, a small local settlement on on the hill range. O/N at tented camp.

Day 06
2 hrs steep decent down to Arun River George and 3 hrs steep accent up to your camp. Sunday and Wednesday local markets are held in each week in Seduwa. O/N at tented camp.

Day 07
4 hr slow accent Tashigaon (the last village in this trip) a bigger Sherpa settlement, located just below the high trees dense forest and reach wild life area. At tented camp.

Day 08
4.30 hrs accent up to Khungma through dense high tree forest and later through Bamboo and rhododendron forest, A great view point camp south view of innumerable green hills and north the magnificent views of Mt. Makalu, The Everest, Mera Peak Barutse etc. Lack of water in camp.  O/N at tented camp.

Day 09
Day for acclimatization. After break fast group can hike up to Sano Pokhari (A small lake towards the Baruntse pass Better and wider Mountains views) for couple of hrs and decent to your camp.

Day 10
3 hrs accent up to the Keke la pass 4127 M  30 minutes down to a small lake 1. Hr accent up to Tutula pass 4075 via twin pass Shiptunla. 2hrs decent to Your camp at Mumbuk above Barun river bak in Barun valley. O/N at tented camp.

Day 11
5 hrs easy accent up to Nehe Kharaka via Angle Kharka. A wild walk through hi tree natural forest along the Barun river bank. The second hr of the day cross a wide land slide part. Travelers are advised to take care of rock falling down from the mountain side, even the avalanches.  O/n Tented camp just at the tree line border.

Day 12
5 hrs easy accent up to the Shershon Camp. A bare land bellow Makalu base camp. Better cam than Makalu base camp for the view of the glaciers and Mountains. O/N at tented camp.

Day 13
4 hrs hike up to Bhedi Kharka above right of the Makalu Base camp for better view of the Mt. Everest, Lhotse and closer view of the Mt. Makalu You have option to hike up to 6000 m without any climbing gear and risk of ice. Back to camp O/N at tented camp.

Day 14
Leisure day

Day 15
6 hrs trek back to Yangle Kharka. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 16
Trek back to Mumbuk for 3 hrs and 1.30 hrs more up to upper Kharka for camp towards the Shipton pass. Overnight at tented camp in the middle of the rhododendron forest before the pass.

Day 17
1.30 hrs trek over the passes and 5 hrs decent to Tashigaon. O/N at tented camp.

Day 18
Trek back to Num. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 19
Trek back to Chichila. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 20
Trek back to Mani Bhanjyang. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 21
Trek back to Tumlingtar evening fare well dinner with the local porters.

Day 22

Flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to Hotel  on  B.B. plan

Day 23

Day at leisure in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 24

Transfer to Airport for your onward Journey. Farewell!

Tsum means Separated and hidden. Actually this newly opened area for the foreign visitors and in fact it is as separated valley in between Tibetan Plateau and Trans Himalaya. This valley is located north of Mt. Ganesh Himal. It's main fact is non violent and very deep in Buddhist religion, countless Stupas and Mani walls along and through the valley. All people are Buddhist with Tibetan customs & Language.Even though it is newly opened for Tourist this Himalayan Ecological Trekking (P.) Ltd is already launched this area as home stay tours in this valley. 2-3 weeks duration is recommendable  to complete this un-touched nature.
