Gokyo Lake Trekking With Gokyo Ri Climbing 5483 - 17 days

The trek to Gokyo trelkking provides an excellent opportunity to see an beautiful view of the Mt. Everest at close range..This trek is to be considered as an alternative trek to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek that offers magnificent views of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest in the Nepal Himalayas. One of the most remarkable feature of the trek is the view of tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu region.You can also see  view of the most popular mountains in Nepal , at an altitude of 8000m including Cho Oyu , Everest, Lhotse and Makalu which are clearly visible from GokyoRi(5483m.) above Gokyo Lake .

Itinerary

Day 01: Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 03: Morning drive to Tribhuwan International Airport and 30 minutes flight to Lukla(2804 m.) and trek to Phakding (2610 m.). O/N at Guest House.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazar (3535 m). Overnight at Guest House.

Day 05: Namche Bazar - Acclimatization day. Overnight at Guest House.
Today we hike up the Syanboche Airport, and around Everest View Hotel great views of the Mt. everest, Kwngde, Thamserku, Amadablam and Nuptse..

From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise or sunset over the panorama of the Khumbu peaks. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 06: Trek to Phorste Tenga (3675m). Overnight at Guest House.

Day 07: Trek to Machherma (4470m). Day walk though the alpine rhododendron forest but cross the forest line before you reach to your lodge. O/N at Guest House.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4790m). Overnight at Guest House.

Day 09: This day early in the morning we have steep climb up to the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m) ample rewards to one attempts this trip. Massive view of the Mt. Cho-U, it’s glacier and the top of the Mt. Everest above his half body.

There are stunning views of the supper Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, such as giants as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8153m) and Gychung Kang (7922m) can be seen.

Day 10: Day trip to 4th Lake (4843m) & 5th lake - 4998m (north of Gokyo Valley), and back to Gokyo Lake. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 11: Trek back to Dole. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 12: Trek to Khumjung village, big settlement of Sherpa people..

Day 13: Trek back to Phakding.

Day 14: Trek back to Lukla. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 15: Morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 16: Leisure day in Kathmandu (it's also spare day incase of bad weather in Lukla).

Day 17: Transfer to Airport for your home departure. Farewell !!

TAAN signs deal on TIMS

An agreement on TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) was signed between NTB and TAAN. According to the agreement ( which will come into effect from April 1) a charge of per head will be levied for trekkers booking through agencies and with VAT per head for independent trekkers. The amount collected thus will be used for the welfare of tourism sector workers, exploration of new trekking trails and for funding the infrastructure development on trail routes.This will also control illegal trekking operations and ensure the safety and security of the trekkers through the mechanism of Prompt Information Service (PIS) . Individual trekkers will be given green TIMS cards while trekkers going through companies will be given blue cards.Prachanda Man Shrestha, CEO of NTB and Bachchu Narayan Shrestha, first vice-president of TAAN signed the agreement on 18th March.
